10 Event Trends for 2013: Some Stats

This is a follow up post to 10 Event Trends for 2013 with some stats of an incredible success.

Event Trends 2013

When I published 10 Event Trends for 2013 3 days ago I was skeptical.

If you’ve ever dealt with social media, you’d know that reaching a spike will happen sometimes along the route. What is really difficult is to achieve consistency and be rewarded by you audience.

Therefore although I expected a good result, I could have never imagined such an incredible response.

Before I delve into stats, here is the presentation and you are more than welcome to embed it on your website, blog, newsletter. Just go to Slideshare and click “Embed” on the top right of the presentation viewer.

Some Stats

The presentation as of today has been viewed over 46,000 times in less than 3 days.

It was downloaded 145 times and favorited by 48 users.

Combined shares of the post and presentation on social networks are as follows:

Facebook: over 300 shares
Twitter: over 330 shares
Linkedin: over 110 shares

These are not average numbers for content about event planning. Having written about events since 2007, I’ve never seen such interest in the past and that is a great thing.

Some Conclusions

I believe there is a message behind this unprecedented spark of attention. Other than the quality of the presentation, there is a significant number of event lovers who are becoming interested about our industry.

I am talking about the long tail. Those that planned maybe an event for friends and family and now want to make it a business.

This new wave of event amateurs can compete with their professional counterparts. This a great stimulus for the industry. In fact we can only anticipate more concepts, more technology and solutions coming our way.

Exciting times ahead for EventLand.

In the meanwhile, a huge thank you for your amazing support.
