3 comments so farA contextual analysis is always welcome whether we are managing a large or small event.
One of the most used tools to understand the context in which we are organizing our event is the SWOT analysis.
This tool can be a waste of time if we do not apply it to our strategy.
In fact, by identifying Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats we should try to come up with a strategy that leverages on our strengths to exploit opportunities or defend us from threats. On the other hand, we should be aware of our weaknesses to find new resources or to protect them from risks.
A nice chart that I noted down in my strategic management classes is as follows
