Event Manager Theme: Some Opinions

It so happens that a month and a half ago we launched Event Manager Theme. This post is a follow up with some reviews by users and event celebrities.

An Overwhelming Success

You know I like to be completely open and honest with you; I wasn’t expecting such great success.

I am not referring necessary to sales but to positive feedback.

Maybe it was because the theme has been built with great code or maybe because we set expectations clear in the theme Manifesto.

In any case, here is some feedback…

Matt Browne, Technology Director, TBEX/BlogWorld

We’ve been searching for a conference scheduling solution powered by WordPress for over a year now and we were delighted to find Event Manager Theme.

Not only did we setup our schedule in a matter of days, but the support has been terrific, the code is rock solid, and the potential huge. Anyone managing an event needs to take a serious look at the EMT solution. We couldn’t be happier

You can see the theme live at the TBEX website, part of Blogworld

Marisha Naz, lead organizer, TEDx UCL – London

Using this theme for the TEDxUCL was a no brainer as the layout and design was already highly tailored for an event with all the necessary highlights in place and a very user friendly interface. This theme is built on a flexible genesis framework which made it easy to work with and tailor to our needs. One of the best features was that it works great on mobile and tablets without having to change or alter the line of code which made integration across all devices so simple and fast. Great especially when trying to launch a website under a time limit. This theme has a high degree of integration with external apps like Launchrock and Eventbrite, again for an event website, this was perfect.

For the price this theme is priced at it truly is a bargain as the theme not only saves you time but looks amazing with flexibility for integration. Any problems were always dealt with in swift time and support from eventmanagerblog was very speedy. Highly recommended! On the plus side, the owner’s blog, eventmanagerblog.com is constantly updated and gives a lot of interesting insights which is worth the read!

I am honoured TEDx UCL uses Event Manager Theme for their website.

Lara McCulloch, ready2spark.com

Lara has covered Event Manager Theme in this awesome list of tools for #eventprofs. Ready2Spark is a reference for the event planning industry. Lara started the #eventprofs hashtag on Twitter. She also participates in our invite only affiliate program. Here is what she thinks about it:

It has everything an event manager would need: the ability to manage speakers, sessions, registrations, customize the design and it also works across devices (smart phones, tablets and PCs).

How Does It Work?

Event Manager Theme is a child theme for Genesis, the most performing WordPress Framework out there.

You can download a free copy of the theme guide [PDF] here. It will give you an idea of what you can achieve with it.

We’ve been able to help those not confident with WordPress through a UK based WordPress agency. You can get their help by purchasing a support license.

What’s Next?

Well this is not the end of it. We have more surprises coming up. Stay tuned and let us know what you think!

I love the theme, but would love to see a modified version for those of us who manage one event at a time – ie. a speaker series – rather than a conference.

    • The theme is a starting point, we do offer customization opportunities for sure to better suit different needs – get in touch and I’ll be happy to show you those
