EventMB is delighted to announce an explosive line up for the ibtm world Innovation zone. See us in Barcelona to experience EventMB offline. And yes, we're bringing 20 back.
Pecha Kucha - a perfect example of embracing a fashion and ditching it without reason. One of the most innovative formats we covered in 2008 (this is how cool we are), is making a comeback. And we are bringing it back in full force to the Innovation Zone of ibtm world from November 29th - December 1st.
We've selected some of the most beloved authors and behind the scenes contributors of EventMB to bring you what's most innovative in the event industry right now.
Exhibitions Are Changing
Nobody likes to be sold at. Nobody likes to be shouted at. This is what trade shows have been since the 1800s. We are glad to work with IBTM to make trade shows future-proof. There is only one way to do it, via unbelievably great content. If you read this blog, you know what I am talking about.
We are not talking about sales masked as education, we are not talking about logo placement. We are talking about great content.
But there's a challenge.
How to Deliver Great Content Under Trade Show Constraints
A trade show is still a trade show. Timing is frantic, there are multiple interests and parties. How do you tie all together this incredibly fast paced environment with the objective to deliver exceptional content? Here are three tips:
- You select amazing speakers. We are very lucky as EventMB has a pool and network of the most incredible writers and speakers that favor content over popularity contests.
- You have a strong editorial perspective. You can rely on myself, your editor, to enforce your interests before anyone else's. Because attendees come first.
- You find a suitable format to deliver the sessions. You can't use a Keynote format for a 20 minute session. Hence my next point.
We are bringing 20 Back
Since we were allocated 20-minute slots, Pecha Kucha was an immediate choice. Pecha Kucha asks the speakers to use 20 slides and spend one minute per slide (we adapted it from 20 seconds).
I've asked all our speakers to deliver a session with one picture or one statement and spend a minute talking to you to explain it. EventMB is freeing you from bullet points, I hope the media will pick that up.
All the sessions will be relevant, fast, actionable and delivered by the best of the best in the event as well as social media and online marketing sectors. We have published authors, globally renowned planners, consultants to Fortune 250, editors, event geeks, millennials that hate the word millennials.
Some of the speakers include:
Kelvin Newman, founder of Rough Agenda, a company that arranges specialist digital marketing events which are among the fastest growing and most popular in the UK, including the sell out BrightonSEO.
Mary Baird-Wilcock, CSEP, founder of The Simplifiers in 2003, who specializes in planning non-traditional events: corporate, weddings and luxury social.
and of course some of EventMB's favorites:
Becki Cross, MD of Events Northern Ltd and Deputy Editor, Community Manager and Contributor to EventMB.
Nick Borelli, President and Strategist of Borelli Strategies, who specializes in digital marketing strategies through consulting, coaching, and brand communication management for events and event companies,
and yours truly of course.
