    Director, B2B Programs & Events – U.S. & Canada, Global Sales Organization, Marriott International

    Michael leads a dynamic team of marketing and business event professionals inside the Global Sales Organization at Marriott International.  With a focus of assisting the GSO Team in staying connected with Marriott’s largest volume customers within association, corporate, intermediary, wholesale, retail and TMC segments, he works with key GSO executive and associate stakeholders to provide strategy and relevant, personalized information and content to group, business transient and leisure travel customer channels, enabling more efficient decision making and problem solving across Marriott’s portfolio of 30 brands.

    In addition, Michael manages Marriott’s meeting, event and tradeshow division, producing internal sales and external customer facing events across all segments and within all premium and luxury brands. Further, he is responsible for all of Marriott’s sponsor and partner programs with all industry associations and organizations.

    He and his team recently launched Marriott’s series of hybrid events – Connect With Confidence – showcasing an effective planning approach to both virtual and in-person events with the purpose of encouraging our industry to once again consider face-to-face business events within a well-being environment.

  • Joe Schwinger

    CEO and Co-Founder, MeetingPlay

    Joe Schwinger is Co-Founder and CEO of MeetingPlay, an award-winning technology company forging meaningful connections at in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for Fortune 500 companies including Marriott, PepsiCo, Databricks, and many more. With a background in ecommerce, he has extensive experience providing customer facing solutions on a global scale.

    A seasoned entrepreneur, before co-founding MeetingPlay in 2011 and beginning to serve as its CEO, Schwinger built and lead several successful business initiatives. Prior to his entrepreneurial experiences, he was key to developing global e-commerce solutions with individual properties for Marriott International. First, he built the ecommerce organization for the Eastern Region at Marriott, which involved dedicated plans for all full-service hotels in the region. Then he oversaw ecommerce for North America during a reorganization to help build the foundation of ecommerce at Marriott globally. Through his experiences at Marriott, Schwinger saw what the future of meetings could look like and started his own venture to make that vision a reality.

    Joe was recently named to the 2020 BizBash 500 Must-Know Event Pros in the U.S. (two years running) and the 2018 list of 40 under 40 by Connect Corporate.

Registration issues FAQ

  • Browser support

    The registration form works at best with the latest versions of the most common browsers:
    Google Chrome, v.80
    Microsoft Edge, v.80
    Mozilla Firefox, v.74
    Safari, v.13

  • The message "Please complete all required fields." appears even if I've filled all fields
    Scenario 1

    This may happen with old versions of browsers not compatible with our invisible recaptcha or not correctly showing the registration terms that should appear after selecting the country.
    Please refer to the first point "Browser support" in order to solve the issue.

    Scenario 2

    Some autocomplete extensions may create problems with the country field selection.
    You can solve the issue:
    - deactivating the autocomplete extension
    - manually filling the form
    - manually selecting the country in the select field
    If successfull you should be able to view the Terms section right under the country field.

  • The submit button doesn't work

    This may happen with old versions of browsers not compatible with our invisible recaptcha or not correctly showing the registration terms that should appear after selecting the country. Please refer to the first point “Browser support” in order to solve the issue.

  • I didn’t receive the confirmation email
    Scenario 1

    According to the type of registration, Webinar or Report, you should receive a confirmation from no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com
    Some minutes are needed in order for our system to send the email.
    If it didn't happen please follow these instructions based on your email manager

    Gmail:
    Select More
    Select Spam
    Search for no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com
    Note: For Gmail you can also search all mail folders, by selecting All Mail under More, then searching for no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com

    Outlook:
    Select Junk Mail.
    Search for no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com

    Yahoo:
    Select Spam.
    Search for no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com

    If you can’t find your email there are chances that your mail system/network blocks the email coming from no-reply @ zoom.us or contact @ eventmanagerblog.com
    In this case, please ask to your system administrator to allow those emails.

    Scenario 2

    If you previously unsubscribed from our newsletter, our system will no be able to send you newsletters or updates even if you register to our webinars or reports.
    To solve that, please follow these steps:
    - look in your email account for a previous email sent by EventMB (contact @ eventmanagerblog.com )
    - in the footer you’ll find the the email preferences link. Click on it.
    - In the next page you’ll find a list of all the EventMB communication preferences
